Carlos Quetin - he wasn't even in the starting line-up for the White Sox on opening day, but since then he's hit more than 30 home runs. He's in the top 10 in RBI's, and leads the league in homeruns. He's been a big part, if not the biggest, in the White Sox offense.
K-Rod (Francisco Rodriguez) - He leads the league with 48 saves and at this pace will probably break Bobby Thigpin's record of 57.
Then there's Youk (Kevin Youkilis) of the hometown RED SOX. He has solid first and third base while hitting great in the clutch. He's my favorite for the MVP award.

While I agree than Quentin and K-Rod are good candidates for the MVP, and I love Youk, I would also add Dustin Pedroia to the list. His stats for average, hits, runs and fielding make him a candidate for MVP!
I hate to tell you dad that youk and k-rod have had more of an impact on their teams. I like P-D but I don't think he's a big canidate.
Gotta love Youk. But you can't count out MVPedroia on the Red Sox.
